- 2 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons apple butter
Instructions
- Prepare the filling by mixing diced apples, apple butter, granulated sugar, water, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and fine sea salt in a bowl; set aside.
- Create the dough by mixing cornstarch dissolved in water with bread flour, sugar, instant yeast, salt, milk, heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth; knead until elastic.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter over it and sprinkle with brown sugar mixed with cinnamon before adding the apple filling.
- Roll up the dough tightly and slice it into equal pieces; place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for around 30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Prepare frosting by beating cream cheese and butter together before gradually adding powdered sugar and heavy cream; frost warm rolls just before serving.
