- 8 oz. brick-style cream cheese – room temperature
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter – room temperature
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs – room temperature
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk or cream
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix together the topping ingredients until crumbly; set aside.
- Toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon in another bowl; set aside.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth; add sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and egg until combined.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour with baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat butter with sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla and milk. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet until just mixed.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Add half of the cream cheese mixture followed by half of the apple filling. Repeat layers finishing with remaining batter and sprinkle topping on top.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
