  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter – melted
  • 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Gala) – peeled and diced into ½ pieces
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 oz. brick-style cream cheese – room temperature
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter – room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs – room temperature
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the topping ingredients until crumbly; set aside.
  3. Toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon in another bowl; set aside.
  4. Beat cream cheese until smooth; add sugar, flour, vanilla extract, and egg until combined.
  5. In a large bowl, whisk flour with baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat butter with sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla and milk. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet until just mixed.
