Instructions
- In a large pot, mix blackberries, sugar, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and granulated sugar. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Stir in buttermilk and additional vanilla until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Once the sauce is boiling, drop spoonfuls of dough into it. Cover with a lid and reduce heat to low; cook for about 15 minutes until fluffy and cooked through.
