Ingredients
- 900 g (2 lbs) potatoes
- Salt to taste
- 50 ml (1/4 cup) whole milk (hot)
- 100 g (1/2 cup) butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Brown Butter: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir continuously until it becomes frothy and turns a golden brown color, then remove from heat.
- Boil and Mash the Potatoes: Peel and quarter the potatoes, then boil in salted water until tender. Drain using a colander and let steam dry briefly. Return potatoes to pot and add hot milk; mash until smooth.
- Combine and Serve: Pour in the browned butter and mash until well combined. Season with salt to taste and serve hot, with extra butter on top if desired.
