- 20 saltine crackers
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- Sea salt for topping (optional)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and arrange saltine crackers.
- In a saucepan, melt unsalted butter and light brown sugar over medium heat until boiling. Pour over crackers and bake for 4-5 minutes.
- Brown additional unsalted butter in a saucepan until golden and fragrant.
- Combine flour and baking soda in a bowl. Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients, then fold in cooled toffee pieces.
- Chill the dough for 2 hours before forming it into balls and baking at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
