- 5 Tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons cake flour
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Cream together unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine cake flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until combined. Chill the dough for one hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Make the filling by combining softened butter, light brown sugar, cinnamon, and cake flour until smooth.
- Scoop chilled dough into portions; create wells for filling before sealing them.
- Bake for 11–13 minutes until edges are lightly golden brown. Cool on wire racks before icing.
