Ingredients
- 2 lb boneless beef shoulder or butt
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons plant-based oyster sauce
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 green onions (sliced)
Instructions
- Cut the beef into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, plant-based oyster sauce, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and black pepper. Toss the beef cubes in the marinade until coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Spread the marinated beef on the prepared baking sheet in an even layer and sprinkle granulated sugar over the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F. For extra char, broil for an additional 6-8 minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
