- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Pour melted butter into the pan, sprinkle brown sugar on top, and spread the cherry pie filling evenly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the cherries in the pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
- Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving platter.
