- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 apples, peeled and chopped

- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Layer with half of the chopped apples and half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture; repeat layers.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For an optional glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over cooled bread.
