Ingredients
- 3 small oranges or tangelos (about 18–20 slices)
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups water
Instructions
- Slice the oranges into ¼-inch rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline for even thickness.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water, heating over medium until dissolved and boiling.
- Reduce heat to simmer and add orange slices in one layer. Simmer for 45–60 minutes, turning occasionally until peels are translucent.
- Carefully remove slices with tongs and place on a wire rack to dry at room temperature for 24–48 hours.
- Optionally roll in sugar or dip in melted chocolate before serving.
