Ingredients

- 2 tsp black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)
- 1½ cups water
- 1 cup coconut milk (full-fat or light)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3–4 whole cardamom pods
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced
- 2–3 whole cloves
- 1–2 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 1½ cups of water to a boil. Add the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, sliced ginger, and cloves. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the black tea leaves or tea bags and steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in the coconut milk and let simmer on low heat for another 2-3 minutes.
- Sweeten with coconut sugar to taste.
- Strain the mixture into cups using a fine mesh strainer.
- Garnish with ground cinnamon or star anise if desired. Serve hot or iced.
