  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 can (14 oz) cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1/2 cup water (for cranberry layer)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red and green sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. While the cake cools, heat cranberry sauce, water, and sugar in a saucepan until warm.
  5. After cooling for about 10 minutes, poke holes all over the top of the cake with a skewer or fork.
  6. Pour the warm cranberry mixture over the cake and allow it to soak in as it cools completely.
  7. Spread whipped topping evenly over the cooled cake and garnish with sprinkles.
