- 8 thick-cut turkey bacon strips
- 8 low-moisture mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Wrap each mozzarella stick tightly with a strip of turkey bacon and secure with a wooden toothpick.
- Set up your breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat each wrapped stick in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then roll in panko until fully covered.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the poppers for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a wire rack.
