  • 100g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the strawberries by removing the tops and roughly chopping them into pieces.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and salt.
  3. Cook on low heat until the juices begin to release, stirring regularly.
  4. Once simmering, increase to low-medium heat and cook for about 15 minutes. Use a potato masher to achieve your desired consistency.
  5. Continue cooking until thickened, then remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring to a glass jar.
