Ingredients
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling)
- 2 Tbsp melted butter (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 Tbsp milk (for glaze)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar.
- In another bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Stir in vanilla extract, then alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
- Prepare the cinnamon swirl by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until thick.
- Layer half of the batter in the loaf pan; dollop with cinnamon mixture and swirl. Top with remaining batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool on a wire rack before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla.
