  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling)
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 Tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Stir in vanilla extract, then alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.
  4. Prepare the cinnamon swirl by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter until thick.
  5. Layer half of the batter in the loaf pan; dollop with cinnamon mixture and swirl. Top with remaining batter.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool on a wire rack before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla.
