  • Total Time: 1 hour 50 minutes
  • Yield: About 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 85 g lukewarm milk (⅓ cup)
  • 60 g lukewarm water (¼ cup)
  • 6 g active dry yeast (about 2 tsp)
  • 5 g honey (1 tsp) or sugar
  • 25 g melted butter (1 ½ tbsp)
  • 250 g all-purpose flour (2 cups)
  • 5 g salt (about 1 tsp)
  • 140 g cold butter for lamination (10 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. Combine lukewarm milk, water, and honey in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt. Add melted butter to the yeast mixture, then gradually combine with the flour mixture while mixing on low speed until combined.
  3. Knead the dough at medium speed until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  4. While the dough rises, pound cold butter between parchment sheets to create a thin rectangle. Chill it while the dough rises.
  5. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle, place chilled butter on one half, fold over, seal edges, and roll out again to laminate.
  6. Follow through with resting periods and bake until golden brown.
