  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 package)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it froth for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add olive oil, salt, garlic powder, Italian herbs, and 2 cups of flour. Stir until combined.
  3. Gradually mix in the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and incorporate mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  7. Shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing.
