Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 package)
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it froth for about 5 minutes.
- Add olive oil, salt, garlic powder, Italian herbs, and 2 cups of flour. Stir until combined.
- Gradually mix in the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and incorporate mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for approximately 30 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing.
