Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked short-grain rice (warm)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup canned tuna (drained and mixed with 1 tablespoon mayonnaise)
  • ½ cup cooked bulgogi beef (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup finely chopped kimchi (excess liquid squeezed out)
  • ½ cup shredded cooked chicken (with soy sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons roasted seaweed flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon gochugaru (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the short-grain rice until sticky but not mushy. Mix in sesame oil and salt while warm.
  2. Prepare your chosen filling by combining tuna with mayonnaise or finely chopping bulgogi or chicken.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the seasoned rice with the filling, adding seaweed flakes, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and gochugaru if desired.
  4. Lightly wet your hands and take about ¼ cup of the mixture; shape it into a ball.
  5. Repeat until all the rice is used. Enjoy immediately or wrap in plastic wrap for later.
