Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
- 2–4 tablespoons ice water
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
- 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
- 2 large eggs
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by combining flour and salt in a food processor. Add cold butter and pulse until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Shape into a disk, wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté onion in olive oil until translucent. Add sliced mushrooms; cook until soft. Stir in garlic and sage for another minute before removing from heat.
- Roll out the chilled dough and fit it into a tart pan. Mix pumpkin puree, cream cheese, eggs, sautéed mixture, and black pepper in a bowl until smooth.
- Pour filling into the crust and bake for about 35-40 minutes until set. Let cool slightly before serving.
