  • 3/4 cup salted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 egg yolks, at room temperature
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 to 1 1/2 tsp red gel food coloring
  • 3/4 cup chopped white chocolate or white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with the sugars using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg yolks, vanilla extract, and red gel food coloring; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped white chocolate.
  7. Scoop dough into balls and place on prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.
