Ingredients
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup marinara sauce
- ½ cup marinara sauce
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
- ½ cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup spinach, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, parsley, milk, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
- Shape the mixture into a rectangular loaf on a baking sheet.
- Create a well in the center and fill it with mozzarella cheese, chopped spinach (if using), and a spoonful of marinara sauce.
- Fold the meat over the filling to seal it tightly.
- Top with remaining marinara sauce and additional grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Allow resting for 10 minutes before slicing.
