  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup marinara sauce
  • ½ cup marinara sauce
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, parsley, milk, salt, and pepper until well mixed.
  3. Shape the mixture into a rectangular loaf on a baking sheet.
  4. Create a well in the center and fill it with mozzarella cheese, chopped spinach (if using), and a spoonful of marinara sauce.
  5. Fold the meat over the filling to seal it tightly.
  6. Top with remaining marinara sauce and additional grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  8. Allow resting for 10 minutes before slicing.
