Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a mixing bowl. Melt butter and mix it with milk and egg; then add to dry ingredients. Knead until smooth and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Make the Custard: Heat milk and sugar in a saucepan. Whisk egg yolks and cornstarch in a separate bowl. Gradually mix warm milk into yolks. Return to heat until thickened; stir in vanilla.
- Shape the Buns: Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Punch down risen dough; divide into 10 pieces. Flatten each piece, fill with custard and raspberry jam, then seal edges.
- Bake: Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let rise again for 15-20 minutes before baking for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
