- Optional: 2 tablespoons apple juice
- Optional: 1 to 2 teaspoons fresh sage
Instructions
- In a large sauté pan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the onions and cook until lightly browned (10-12 minutes).
- Sprinkle in the flour along with salt and pepper; stir continuously for one minute.
- Gradually whisk in turkey drippings until smooth.
- If using, stir in apple juice and sage for added flavor.
- Simmer gently while stirring until thickened (about 4-5 minutes). Adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve hot alongside turkey and sides.
