  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter (melted, plus extra for greasing)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 3/4 cup wild blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons wild blueberries (for glaze)
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, whole milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and table salt.
  4. Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in the wild blueberries.
  5. Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling slightly before removing them from the pan.
  7. For the glaze, mash additional wild blueberries in a saucepan over medium heat and mix with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze and let excess drip off before placing on a wire rack to set.
