Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons salted butter (melted, plus extra for greasing)
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon table salt
- 3/4 cup wild blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons wild blueberries (for glaze)
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, whole milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and table salt.
- Gradually stir the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in the wild blueberries.
- Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity two-thirds full.
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling slightly before removing them from the pan.
- For the glaze, mash additional wild blueberries in a saucepan over medium heat and mix with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Dip each cooled donut into the glaze and let excess drip off before placing on a wire rack to set.
