- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 0.5 cup apple butter
- 0.25 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional nutmeg for added flavor)
- 0.5 cup flour (to prepare apple butter swirl)
- 0.25 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 0.25 cup cold butter (for topping)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for topping)
- 0.25 teaspoon salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a muffin tin.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix apple butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour for the swirl.
- Spoon half of the muffin batter into each muffin cup; add a dollop of apple butter mixture on top and cover with remaining batter.
- Bake for about 22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow muffins to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
