- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup butter, softened and divided
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- Cream together 1 cup butter and granulated sugar until fluffy; add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
- Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet mixture, alternating with milk until smooth.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt remaining butter with brown sugar until bubbly; pour into prepared pan.
- Arrange banana slices over the caramel layer.
- Pour batter over bananas and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown and set.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before flipping onto a serving plate.
