  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole-rolled old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 35 caramel squares
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Add brown sugar and vanilla; whisk until smooth.
  3. Mix in flour, oats, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. Spread half of the mixture into the pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, melt caramels with heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the baked base, then pour caramel sauce on top.
  7. Crumble the remaining mixture over the caramel layer and bake for an additional 15-18 minutes.
