- 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper
- 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 10 whole cloves garlic
- 2 ½ cups chicken broth
- ⅓ cup flour
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides.
- In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sear the seasoned chicken until golden brown on both sides (about 5-7 minutes per side). Remove from the skillet.
- Add butter and whole garlic cloves to the same skillet, sauté until fragrant (2-3 minutes).
- Sprinkle flour over the garlic, stir for about a minute, then gradually add chicken broth while whisking to avoid lumps.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese if desired; return the chicken to the skillet and cook until heated through.
- Serve hot over pasta or rice.
