Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest (2–3 lemons)
- ⅓ cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually mix in the sugar mixture until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture using a rubber spatula until just combined; do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it evenly. Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While cooling, whisk together powdered sugar, fresh lemon juice, and lemon zest for the glaze.
- Once cooled, pour the glaze over the brownies in the pan and let it set before cutting into squares.
