  • 1/2 cup instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, and salt until blended.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients with buttermilk until just combined. Fold in pudding mix and chocolate chips gently.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool before preparing the ganache by melting butter, water, and chocolate chips together; mix in vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar.
  7. Spread ganache over cooled cake.
