- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup (60 g) red apple vinegar
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 ½ cups (360 g) beef broth
- 1 package (16 ounces) potato gnocchi, uncooked
- 1 ½ cups (169.5 g) Gruyère cheese, shredded
- Parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat, combine olive oil and butter. Add thinly sliced onions and sauté for 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
- Stir in red apple vinegar and cook until evaporated. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Pour in beef broth, bring to a simmer, then add uncooked gnocchi and gently simmer for 3-5 minutes until tender.
- Sprinkle shredded Gruyère cheese on top and broil for 2-3 minutes until melted and golden.
- Remove from oven, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
