Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix rolled oats, almond flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together honey or maple syrup, almond butter, unsweetened applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until fully mixed.
  5. Fold in dark chocolate chips and any optional nuts or dried fruits.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes in the dish before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
