For the Croissants:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
3 oz dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
1 large egg
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 cup flour, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly to smooth it.
- Cut the pastry into triangles (similar to classic croissant shapes).
- Place a small amount of chopped dark chocolate at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll each triangle tightly from the wide end to the tip to form a croissant shape.
- Place the croissants on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over each croissant for a golden finish.
- Sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
