- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1¼ cups light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp almond extract
- 1/4 tsp pink gel food coloring
- 1 cup drained & finely chopped maraschino cherries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In one bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and extracts to the butter mixture; mix until well combined.
- Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped cherries gently.
- Scoop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spaced apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Cool on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
