Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh strawberries
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 10–12 ounces angel food cake or pound cake
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberries: Slice strawberries and mix with sugar in a medium bowl. Allow them to sit for 10 minutes to release their juices.
- Prepare the Cake: Crumble store-bought angel food cake or pound cake into bite-sized pieces.
- Layer the Ingredients: In serving cups, layer crumbled cake, spoon over macerated strawberries and their juices.
- Add Whipped Cream: Top with whipped cream and repeat layers until cups are filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish with fresh strawberry slices or mint leaves before serving.
