  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup red bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 2 tablespoons green onion (diced)
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped or minced)
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil (or oil of your choice, more if needed)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 strips Turkey Turkey Bacon (cooked and cut in half making 4 pieces)
  • 2 buns (we love using brioche buns, toasted)
  • mayo
  • sriracha
  • red onion (sliced)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, diced red bell pepper, green onion, smoked paprika, Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, and garlic. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 portions and shape into balls.
  3. Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the chicken balls in the skillet and gently smash them with a spatula.
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes until browned; flip patties and top each with cheddar cheese. Cover with a lid and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts.
  5. Assemble burgers by spreading spicy mayo on toasted buns, adding the patties with turkey bacon and sliced red onion.
