Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter and pour it into a greased 9-inch springform cake pan.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the butter; arrange pineapple slices and cherries beautifully on top.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and optional salt.
- In another bowl, combine buttermilk, yogurt, oil, egg, and vanilla extract until blended.
- Gently fold wet ingredients into dry until just combined; pour batter over toppings in the pan.
- Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean; let cool before inverting.
